Security & Surveillance
Can AI detect weapons on existing CCTV cameras?
Yes. FaceTagr connects to existing IP cameras over RTSP or ONVIF and analyses the video for visible firearms and other weapon-like objects, then alerts security staff on the dashboard and mobile app. It runs on-premise, either on NBOX (FaceTagr's pre-configured plug-in unit) or on your own server, and can work fully offline.
What affects detection
✓Camera placement and angle
✓Resolution and lighting
✓How visible the object is
✓Human review of every alert before action is taken
Approaches compared
| Approach | What it typically involves |
|---|---|
| Cloud-only analytics | Typically needs bandwidth and an internet connection |
| Plug-in to a video management system | Typically tied to that VMS |
| FaceTagr | A pre-configured plug-in unit called NBOX, or software on your own server; on-premise, offline-capable, DIY setup, RESTful API for downstream systems |
Where it is used
✓Perimeter and entrances
✓Campuses and schools
✓Retail and malls
✓Industrial sites
✓Public venues
Frequently Asked Questions
Do we need new cameras?
No. FaceTagr works with existing RTSP or ONVIF cameras.
Does it work without internet?
Yes. It runs on-premise and is offline-capable.
What happens when something is detected?
An alert goes to the dashboard and mobile app, and events can be pushed to other systems through the RESTful API.
Is every alert reviewed by a person?
Detection supports security staff. Every alert should be reviewed by a person before action is taken.
Can it also detect people, count occupancy and recognise faces?
Yes, on the same system.
Can we start with a pilot?
